My first job out of graduate school was as an adjunct history instructor at Columbus State University. I did all of the planning, lecturing, and grading for my classes. As an instructor, I have had experience proofreading student papers as well as giving suggestions on grammar and format. In my most recent position, I reviewed resumes for clients who were leaving the military and seeking civilian employment. I had to be mindful of correct grammar in civilian and federal resumes. In addition, in both positions, I had to deliver my constructive criticism to my students and clients in a tactful manner so that they would be open to suggestions. I also possess superb public speaking skills and enjoy working with small or larger groups of students/clients. With that information and plenty of patience everyone learns their own way and at their own speed. My goal is to not only help students improve their grades but to also learn the material. I am a fall graduate from Troy University and will be graduating with honors. I am currently a peer tutor at Troy in biology and math (algebra). I have tutored privately before in high school math (algebra and geometry. I graduated 9th in my high school with honors earning an advanced diploma with an honor's seal. I love school and love to learn. I will be enrolled in Amridge University in January to pursue my master's degree.

As a college student I am still striving for my goal and dream of becoming a veterinarian. I have always been a mentor in my community and willing to help others where they need help. My favorite subjects throughout grade school include math and science, in which I have excelled in both by being placed in honor level classes throughout high school. I have tutored many students in math, science and elementary level reading. My teaching style with younger children is to have a relaxed setting where no pressure in placed upon the student. I'm always sure to review my material before going into a new lecture. When a student is not understanding the material I try to use many methods for then to gain a better understanding.
