One of the reasons that I'm interested in tutoring is that, although I love working with individual students and small groups, I am less interested in classroom management, discipline and the rest of the duties that come along with substitute teaching. I am excellent at relating to students and absolutely can help those who are willing to learn. I typically try to match my teaching style to meet the needs of the particular student(s). I am familiar with many different approaches to teach literacy and math, including some exposure to occupational therapy, emotionally impaired, and LD appoaches to meet certain needs of some students. I have found that students learn better when the environment is relaxed, they think critically and they write clearly. My teaching style encompasses and encourages all of these. Please do not be apprehensive or over enthusiastic about hiring me because I studied religion. I studied religion academically, not theologically. My religious beliefs have no influence on my academic or professional life.
