I have worked with elementary, high school, and college-aged students, providing instruction in subjects ranging from English to biology. I am comfortable teaching a group, but I also have ample experience working one-on-one with students. I believe that course material should engage students. A Little Bit About Me...

I teach a hands on curriculum as much as possible. I constantly have visuals, or hands on manipulatives to helps students gain a better understanding. I believe that it's important to understand students' learning styles, and try to teach in a manner that "taps" into the various styles. I put a lot of pride into my career as a teacher, and am determined not to give up on students. Often I feel that such a great factor in a child's success is their self esteem. As an undergraduate, I attended Purdue University and worked as a teaching assistant where I ran my own lab, instructing students for one of their core management courses. In my junior year, I was asked to apply to an invitation-only program for an an accelerated MBA program only for exceptional students. I am now entering my final year of this program and will graduate in 2011 with a BS in Business Management and a Masters degree in Business Administration. The graduate program is team focused and emphasizes working with and teaching diverse groups of people.
I am a strong believer in teaching through examples and letting students try to apply the knowledge I have taught them at various smaller stages, then apply it to the bigger picture.
