A Little Bit About Me...

I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Accounting with a minor in Economics and plan to continue my education into a Masters of Science in Accountancy program. During my tenure as a student, I had the opportunity to work four years in the college's Academic Resource Center as a writing consultant where I assisted students to improve their writing ability and to understand that writing should be look at the process rather than attempt to "correct" each paper. In addition being a writing consultant, I also acted as a student assistant for the center as well. A Little Bit About Me...

After graduating college, I moved to California to earn my teaching credential. I earned it in K-12 Multiple Subject education. I have have 3 years experience teaching, and currently teach 1st grade in Cincinnati Public schools. I have tutored most all elementary grades, and have about 6 years experience doing so. I am patient with students, and my friendly demeanor helps them to be at ease. I am most experienced tutoring in reading, phonics and literacy, but also can tutor in elementary math, English as a Second language, or middle school or high school grammar and writing. As an undergraduate, I attended Purdue University and worked as a teaching assistant where I ran my own lab, instructing students for one of their core management courses. In my junior year, I was asked to apply to an invitation-only program for an an accelerated MBA program only for exceptional students. I am now entering my final year of this program and will graduate in 2011 with a BS in Business Management and a Masters degree in Business Administration. The graduate program is team focused and emphasizes working with and teaching diverse groups of people.
I am a strong believer in teaching through examples and letting students try to apply the knowledge I have taught them at various smaller stages, then apply it to the bigger picture.
