Teaching is a facilitating process. I believe it is my job to aide the student in developing a more solid understanding of the coursework in front of them. This may involve explaining the same concept to the child in a variety of ways to help them understand. The child may also just require a patient instructor who is willing to keep practicing until they have reached the mastery stage of learning. A Little Bit About Me...

I love math and thick it is fun! I enjoy facilitating the ah ha moments when a learner gets it! I direct the student by asking questions and encouraging them to develop an understanding of why they are applying a certain method to solve a particular math problem. I use demonstrations to enable the student to visualize the math concept and relate it to their physical world and to experience its practical application in daily life. I believe math is most easily grasped by showing the student how to approach the problem, encouraging them to observe (and understand the logical progression) and then repeat on their own with assistance as needed.
