My job as an educator is to teach them how to learn it and make them want to learn it. I personally do not believe that negative reinforcement is beneficial. Positive responses to students are extremely valuable, even if they may occasionally give the wrong answer. This will give them the motivation to do well. Growing up with more than five teachers in my family, I have always had a deep understanding of the importance of education and a drive to teach others. I recieved my Bachelor's in English from the University of Southern Indiana with the intention of completing a Masters and becomming an instructor at the college level. Throughout my life I have been tutoring and teaching my peers. In elementary through high school, teachers would ask me to take time to explain one-on-one the coursework with my classmates. In college I naturally became the go-to person for help with coursework. My official experience, however, did not come until I was in graduate school. There I taught laboratory sections in animal and dairy science as well as tutored my classmates after hours.
