I love teaching. I always get well prepared before I sit down with someone. A couple of hours of preparation beforehand can make the difference between a tedious, unproductive experience and one that encourages the student and makes the excited about learning. I try to help with sticking points and not to lecture. I have discovered that people tend to remember answer to their questions and if I try to explain a deeper meaning it will only bore them and make them less interested.
At the University of Illinois at Chicago I earned a bachelor's of science degree in electrical engineering and worked as a teaching assistant for three sememsters of graduate school. I feel that it is extremely important not to give the student all the answers, but to assist them so they are able to use reasoning to figure out the solutions themselves. I feel that it is very possible that one person can be able to help make an important impact in a students' education.
