I have spent the last 4 years working towards getting my BA in Education. I first earned my AA, concentrating on the Humanities. While earning my BA, I have had college level Grammar and Linguistics as well as a wide variety of Literature classes, including World Lit, American Lit, British Lit and Fantasy Lit. I find it rewarding to teach children and adults the necessary skills that allow them to obtain full English literacy. One of the greatest accomplishments in the course of the educational process is the acquisition of full, quality literacy; it is the foundation. Consequently, I prefer a step-by-step, pragmatic method of teaching English language skills: phonics, words, syllables, consonants, verbs, sentences, punctuation, grammar, etc.
As a long-term adjunct instructor, I have successfully cultivated an effective set of best teaching practices relative to the English language and Communications. I make every conscious attempt to relate to my students as individuals and to meet their educational needs.
