Teaching is very subjective. Each individual learns according to his/her own style. What I find challenging and rewarding is to find that point where it “clicks”. I believe the best way to learn is through experience and discovery. As an example, I can describe the intelligence of an octopus. But until you actually see a video of one opening a jar for a treat, do you truly realize it as a thinking, planning being. As an undergraduate at Oral Roberts University, I volunteered through our American Chemical Society student affiliates as a tutor for college freshman and sophomore level chemistry classes.
