My teaching style is one generally "getting on the students level." I explain things in both word and action helping the student to understand more clearly. I have been able to achieve great results from my students by clearly explaining things to their understanding levels. I like to have fun with my students, using games and art as teaching tools when applicable, regardless of their age. I also like to teach organizational skills to help the student become a better student and overall person. I am very adaptive to students learning style. I usually spend the first ten minutes of our first meeting figuring out what the student is struggling with and how to best meet their needs. I try to teach students more how to think analytical more so then just solving problems because it is more beneficial to the student. I feel that if I can teach the student how to read theorems, understand concepts, then problems just become easy at that point.
I started tutoring part time in 2004 and have continued this throughout college. I worked as a math tutor for tulsa community college part time during the summer. I have earned over 190 hours of college credit, I have two degrees, and I am only 15 hours away from a chemical engineering degree.
