I have taught 23 years in Georgia public schools mainly teaching mathematics in middle and high school. I am technology efficient especially in mnathematics.I have taught after school courses in all subjects on the computer. I can teach in a variety of ways. mainly by using ways to relate to the students understandings. I dont like the costant drilling techniques many people use. Some people learn more by constantly studying, while others study just enough to get an understanding. thats me. joined the army in 2002. served for over 9 years. Scored a 72 on my ASVAB,and 0ver 110 in all fields of the GT score. So i know a bit about everything that is asked of in the ASVAB test. Especially in the automotive and math sections. Worked in a variety of environments, where i learned housekeeping,cooking,and automotive skills.

I am a firm believer that the best way to learn varies from subject to subject. When I taught math my view was that the best way to teach was to break everything down into a step by step process and have the students memorize the process. Most other subjects can be learned through repitition, but math requires everything to be broken down. I taught 8th through 10th grade at a Christian School in Ludowici. I taught every subject, but never a math course higher then Algebra 1.

I try to instill in the students that they can do the work. Students can do the work, the only thing needed is to get them to acknowledge that they can do it. Usually all they need is to have the process re-explained to them and if needed, have the process explained in a different method. i have a BS degree in Biology and enough credits to have a minor in Chemistry. I am in the process of taking the tests to get a provisional certificate in teaching. I have tutored fellow students while in school. Recently i have tutored elementary school students in math.

Over the years (as undergrad and graduate), I have tutored middle school and elementary age students in various subjects. I have also been a resource for undergrad and graduate health science students while serving as a graduate assistant (public health master's program). I proctored exams and held tutoring and review sessions prior to testing. I have two master's degrees, three undergraduate degrees, and experience as a paramedic, nurse, and substitute teacher. I believe in completing an individual needs assessment and designing a study approach around that assessment. I believe in constant reinforcement and reassessment. I also believe it is useful to utilize as many and as varied forms of instruction as possible (written, audio-visual, demonstration, etc.) to solidify a concept. I graduated from University of Georgia with a degree in Public Health with emphasis in Microbiology, Chemistry and Statistics. I have a passion to help and increase level of literacy and way of living. Throughout High School I worked at Kumon Math and Reading Tutoring. In college I worked for UGA in the Division of Academic Enhancement tutoring Statistics and Algebra. I have practiced my reading and english skills in various ways through papers,reports and presentations. Math has always been my strong suit, I exempted out of Calculus in college by making a 5 on the AP exam.
