I believe in creating students who have learned how to learn. I understand that I am only a temporary fixture in the lives of most students. I love teaching and working with both adults and children. The key to any student succeeding with the aide of a tutor is my ability to assist the student in finding a passion for the subject and making the learning environment one that is successful and interesting for each student. I have extensive training in the various learning styles and instinctively target the student's learning style in order to make the most progress. I am a firm believer in kinesthetic learning activities and of using a hands-on, mnemonic-driven approach to teaching. I have enjoyed substitute teaching since 1991; it was a part- time occupation that worked well as I re-entered the college scene in order to advance my AA degree to a BA in Political Science.
