I have 20 years experience working with children in multiple capacities. I was a full time teacher before I had a family of my own and decided to begin tutoring. I love working one-on-one with children. I have tutored for the past ten years in multiple subject areas but decided that my true passion is teaching children to read. I believe that when a child knows how to read, the course of their life will be forever changed!
I specialize in teaching dyslexic students. I use and Orton-Gillingham based program that is multi-sensory. It is the only scientifically proven method to help children with dyslexia become successful readers and spellers.

I have recently graduated from UNLV with a BA in fine art with minors in art history and criminal justice. I have taken classes in education and am pursuing a master's degree in art history so I can teach on the college level. I have taught and tutored many individuals in art, English, and math. I was on the math team in high school and have gone to nationals for Science Olympiad so I can also tutor in the science related subjects. The most effective way to instruct students is through experience. Unless a student can take hold of a subject for himself and make it his own, he will never master the information. My past tutoring experience has prepared me well to show students that they can succeed in any subject. Students first have to be told that they can achieve anything as long as they accomplish their very best. I believe that one of the best ways to introduce a subject is through a hands on approach.
