I believe your teaching style cannot be enforced on a student, you need to learn the students learning style and adapt to them. I know the different learning styles of visual, auditory and kinestetic are important to identify with the student to help them achive thier ultimate learning experience. While pursuing my Bachelors Degree in Accounting at Missouri State University, I was a substitute teacher for grades 1-12 at two local schools. Through this experience I obtained a great understanding of various student learning styles and effective teaching methods from numerous teachers and numerous students.
