I am native from Belgium and came to the US in 1987. I have been tutoring French and Subbing in some area schools as Bancroft in Worcester, MA from 1st grade to high school level. and 7th and 8th grade in Princeton, MA. My first job was as a receptionist at The Quebec Government Office in Boston. After having 4 children I have been a stay in mom but tutored in private homes. I have taught all grade levels but at the present time, I am teaching middle school. I have my own hands-on style in the classroom and prefer that method with the students that I tutor. Inevitably I need to teach the content required by the students' classroom teacher and have to fall back on traditional teaching methods in order to have the student become current in what is being learned at school. I am in favor of utilizing the computer as a learning tool as well as the required textbook. The computer however, gives the student instant feedback on the skills being learned and encourages the student to keep working towards their goal.
