I am a young Wall Street retiree with degrees in Mathematics, Computer Science and Finance. I have tutored students in Mathematics since my days on the Math Team at Stuyvesant High School. I was a high school math teacher for a brief time; more recently, I taught Probability and Statistics at Stony Brook University, where I was awarded the President’s Award for Excellence in Teaching.

I have two daughters, two years apart, but only one grade apart. They both do very well academically and embrace the process of learning. At home we focus more on learning and how to search for answers than on simple memorization. I have found that this has given Emma and Claudia an advantage over their peers, as neither are "hung up" on what they remember, but focus on how to use what they've learned and to apply it as a tool in learning increasingly challenging and rewarding concepts. It seemed I was always studying for something during the first 25 years of my life. First it was accounting in college followed by the CPA exam and then graduate school at night.
