My comments on tutoring American History : My teacher training focused on U.S./American History. I have tutored middle school students, Regents students and AP students in U.S. History.

This is my fourth year tutoring middle and high school students in History and Government. I also have professional classroom teaching experience and volunteer elementary school teaching experience. My students, primarily Global History, World History and European History students, have raised their class grades, passed the Regents exam by many points and earned high scores on the AP. I specialize in both content acquisition and essay writing skills. Some students have worked with me for half a year or more, others for a month or two before cumulative exams.

Structured yet creative Reading Specialist.

My comments on tutoring American History : My college major was History, with a concentration in American History. I have tutored middle school students, Regents students and students in AP U.S. History.

I have a strong passion for working with kids and helping them succeed and progress academically. I stride on giving my students a sense of confidence in and out of the classroom. I have worked with kids out of the classroom as a camp counselor, as well as a home tutor. I worked at a camp for kids ages 5-12 with hearing disabilities, where I created interactive fun learning activities. My philosophy on teaching history is that students learn and absorb the information more when they are taught not just what happened, but why it happened.
