Teaching has always been a passion of mine. I know that much of my success has been a result of learning from great dynamic teachers who really cared about me as a student and as a person. I believe that teaching is done best by adapting to the student, finding common ground, and then relating that connection to the topic in question. I would love to help your student find these connections and learn to be enjoy the process of education and achievement.
I have a BA in History from UM, which, of course, entailed not just learning and researching history, but also tremendous amounts of writing papers on a myriad of topics. I am currently a law student at Wayne State, and so am also well versed in legal and social issues, as well as, once again, lots of writing and grammar. The experience that I have is training the leaders/volunteers in running a troop or assisting the leaders. The training sessions is from three to six hours of presenting materials, video, Power Point slides and group interactions that will assist the group in holding meetings and developing programs for the troops. The teaching experience consist of leadership, how to handle complex situations with the troop and or parents. I train every month at least once to three sessions.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have worked in education at the community college level for several years. I worked as an English Tutor for four years at Washtenaw Community College before being asked to join the part-time teaching staff. My class load consisted mostly of Composition I and Technical Writing classes; occasionally I would substitute for Literature courses when needed. In addition to my educational experience, I also have corporate experience working as a Technical Writer/Documentation Specialist in companies such as: EDS, GM, and Consumer Energy.
I can’t imagine myself not spending the rest of my life teaching. I have worked both in the educational field and the corporate world and without a doubt I know with whom my heart belongs.
