I am a recent 2006 graduate from College Misericordia where I student taught third, fourth and fifth grade learning support and regular education in a first grade classroom. I then worked in the Pine Grove School district where I taught students with varying exceptionalities including: learning disabled, mental retardation, emotional disturbance, and other health impairments. I taught the academic areas of Reading, English and Math. I just recently finished up my Masters program in Classroom Technology and I am currently an Itinerant Special Education Teacher in a vocational school. I graduated college with top honors. I worked as a Juvenile/Shelter Care Counselor at Berks County Youth Center where I worked with children of all ages and races. I am semi bi-lingual in Spanish. I took three years of Spanish courses in college. I supervised children in school and daily activities, but was also responsible for helping them complete all homework assignments, organize educational activities , help teach all school subjects, as well as tutor children in need of extra help in school. As a teacher there is nothing more rewarding than the look on a child's face when a skill is mastered or a mystery becomes an understood concept. This is what attracted me to the field of education and what has kept me here. I am also fully aware that each student does not reach this level of mastery by following the same path.
