A Little Bit About Me...

My strengths are with all children, they are my passion. I love inspiring and motivating students to learn. I try to actively engage students in learning by using a variety of activities, projects, and manipulatives. In addition I have been able to use reading strategies to help students achieve a successful year of learning. I am an open and friendly teacher, with a bit of a funny bone at times. I live by a Dr. Suess quote “The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go.”
I will be a graduate of Northeastern State University as of May 17th, 2010 holding a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education. I will be taking my certification test during the weekend of April 17th. A Little Bit About Me...

My passion is working with children of all ages. I believe all children can learn and it depends on how you approach their learning. If a child is not learning, I need to re-evaluate how I go about teaching. I am very patient and have an outgoing personality. I believe that you must teach to the whole child before true learning can happen.
I have been a classroom teacher for 9 years. All 10 of my years out of school have been in the education field. My first year out of college I taught at an unaccredited private school, and then at an accredited day care center. The next 7 years were at a public school. One year I was recruiting for scholarships at the college level. I have always opened my door to students without expectations of payment for several years. I feel that it is my duty to make sure they understand their assignments.
