I am a retired teacher with 36 years of experience. I have taught from the 6th grade through community college. I also have a combined 49 seasons of coaching experience in football and basketball.I have written curriculum for high school and college classes. Subjects I have previously taught are: CAD, drafting, woodworking, study skills, computers, careers, home maintenance, residential framing, construction, and I spent a year as a Dean of Students.

I have enjoyed the personal gratification of tutoring since high school. Since I was 15 years old, I have shared my knowledge and love of mathematics with people of all ages. I attended Spelman College and Georgia Institute of Technology, where I received my Bachelor of Science in both Mathematics and Mechanical Engineering. I also tutored my peers at these institutions. My goal is to help students understand the foundation and theory behind math concepts, so that they can tackle any math problem with ease and confidence. Confidence is key! I bring both personality and creativity to math sessions, and I am concerned with the intellectual and emotional well-being of all tutees/students. I currently have a long list of clients that I serve through one-on-one, in-home tutoring--and have both a high success rate and client loyalty with them.

I believe that every child can succeed in education. It is just a matter of finding the correct learning style for that person. This is based on my experience in education over the past 30 years. I have taught in colleges, corporations and K-12. In each of these arenas, I have found that knowing the student and the way they learn is probably the most important aspect of imparting knowledge. As a graduate of Miami University's College of Arts and Sciences with a Bachelor's degree in English Literature and a thematic sequence in Macroeconomics, I have the intellectual acumen to accommodate different types of students. Currently, I am a substitute teacher for Maumee City Schools and Rossford Exempted Village Schools on a 1 year short term substitute license from the state of Ohio. I also am a certified teacher with Sylvan Learning Schools. I have moved up the list in Maumee City Schools and I am regularly called in to substitute for grades K-12.
