I am 23 years old and strive for excellence constantly. I currently have two jobs and a child. I work hard for my family and make sure that I do my best in everything that is put in front of me. I have made it through high school and college. I have worked with younger children as well as older children. I like to be challenged and will learn with anyone and everyone I work with.
I have many ways of teaching. I like to make the experience rewarding, fun and educational. As I continue to work with others I find their strengths and weaknesses and do the best I can to make the experience fun and as stress free as possible. Learning and helping others learn are among my highest priorities in life. My high academic honors reflect this drive to learn: I earned magna cum laude in college, and I was valedictorian of my high school class. My degree in English Education gave me a strong grasp of English grammar, composition, and literature; it also gave me concentrated training and practice in teaching these subjects to adolescents. I came to teaching as a second career when I realized I was not happy in local politics. I earned a degree in Secondary Education with English certification grades 5-12. I have taught in rural as well as urban schools and schools in between. I have a strong command of grammar and reading comprehension skills. I have lead students in debate teams as well.
I am very straightforward in my style. I really enjoy doing things my way and seeing how the student responds. If the response is not positive then I modify and try again until we get it right. I am very much an auditory person myself so I am very verbal and love to talk things through.
