I have been involved with education for roughly the past five years, spending 2 as a substitute teacher, 2.5 as a Middle and High School Social Studies teacher and 0.5 as an Adult Education Instructor. I hold a Master's Degree in Social Studies Education from Morehead State University and a Bachelor's Degree in History from Alice Lloyd College. Classes I have taught include United State History, World History, World Geography and Law & Justice. My teaching style varies depending on the students I am teaching. It consists of lecture notes, handouts, exams and quizes and games such as Jeopardy. I believe that all students have the ability to learn and grow as individuals. It is my job as the teacher to make learning both enjoyable and educational. My main goal in education is to make a difference in the lives of the students I teach.

I have experience teaching G.E.D. students in various levels of Reading, Writing and Grammar. I have always enjoyed Language Arts and would be interested in teaching either Elementary, Middle School or High School students. I would enjoy this opportunity. My teaching style would be similar to that of a coach. As a Tutor, I would strive to develop a student's potential while inspiring and motivating the student to learn new skills and to excel. My teaching style would focus on developing rapport, motivating, teaching and building the student's confidence. I would encourage the student to practice new skills and provide suggestions for continued improvement in order for the student to achieve their educational goals.
