Some people learn by talking, some tactically by doing, some visually by example. It depends on the student, or I devise a presentation that involves all three ways of presenting the information. I believe that learning and understanding the value of what is being learned is as important as the content.
I am a doer who has shared his knowledge and experience in a variety of ways. When I worked as a photographer and filmmaker, I taught those subjects at many different institutions, from an after-school program for elementary school kids to NYU Graduate School. For many years now, I have worked as a science writer and editor. My tutoring experience consists of friends over the years, however it has always been something I was very good at. I decided to make a career change after working at Fidelity Investments for five years now to something I have a passion for, teaching children.
