A Little Bit About Me...

As a writer, I spent my early years refining my grammar skills and continued on this path in college, graduate school and in my professional life. I am a published poet and was accepted to attend the 2003 Breadloaf Young Writer's Conference. I I enjoy teaching students of all abilities and specialize in working with gifted and talented youth and youth who are interested in exploring the world in an experiential way. I am the kind of teacher who takes time to get to know a child's individual interests and teach using the student centered model in the classroom. I believe in teaching children to gain confidence in them by reinforcing the positive strengths. I do believe that teachers have a real opportunity to make a difference in students' lives. As an educator, I hope to meet with students and teach them to recognize their own unique gifts.

As a graduate from one of the top Liberal Arts schools in New England, I helped tutor college students in English Composition for one semester. Before I changed my major, I was Secondary English Education, which translates into training to be a high school English teacher. I substituted and did my practicum which gives me about a year's worth of experience. I have a passion for reading and writing that I would love to share with a struggling student or students. I also play multiple instruments and could help teach that as well.
