Whenever possible, I use highlighters, colored pencils, hands-on manipulatives, and other items to help students learn.
I have been teaching elementary students since 1995 in 1st and 4th grades. I have taught all subject areas, especially language arts and math. A Little Bit About Me...

In general, I've always loved Science and Social Studies, so those are my strong points. I love talking about History and learning new things every day. Science can be exciting, but also tricky. I'd love to help teach, and even learn more, alongside someone who needs the information. Knowledge is power, especially when it helps you get a good grade ;) About myself-- I love music, watching funny videos on YouTube, and drinking Starbucks. I love helping students understand concepts that seem 100% foreign to them. I teach mostly geared towards visual learners. I tend to use visual and real life examples to push my students to grasp the concepts for themselves. I prefer to make them do the work and answer questions as we move forward. I do not believe students should just be given answers. They should be given the tools to answer the questions for themselves.
