A Little Bit About Me...

For the last four years I have been at Cardigan Mountain School, where I taught English, Latin, Homeric Greek, ESL, and Ancient History. I collaborated with the English Dept., providing, via Power Point Lecture Presentations, the historical background to Tennyson’s epic account of the Light Brigade at Balaklava and Shakespeare’s Henry V, and, as part of the eight grade history seminar, I delivered a forty-minute lecture on Hitler and the Holocaust. In my time here I have also played in the faculty band, directed a student rock band or two, taught beginning guitar and marksmanship as clubs, and fulfilled the duties of Medical Driver, dorm parent, and sometimes videographer.

A Little Bit About Me...

My passion is making mathematics accessible. After high school I was underwhelmed by mathematics. However as I took more math in college, I realized how much I had missed in high school. As I learned more mathematics, I became determined to make it my business to find and implement better methods of educating people on mathematics in a way that does not overwhelm them, but simultaneously makes their learning experience more useful. I studied teacher education as an undergraduate, and attended graduate school at Dartmouth where the program in mathematics has a specific focus on preparing one to teach mathematics. I will often answer a question with a question in order to teach students to approach subjects with inquisitiveness and reason.
