Reading is one of my top subjects!

I have taught for four years from Kindergarten to Third Grade. I was responsible for teaching math, reading, english language arts, social studies, science, phonics, and handwriting. Besides teaching at the Elementary level, I was the Gifted Coordinator for students in grades Kindergarten to 12th. I have made accommodations to fit the needs of each student and use enrichment to help students learn to their highest potential. I would like to use my education and talents to tutor students. I earned two degrees, one in biology and the other in health science. I am very knowledgable in biology, general sciences, anatomy and physiology, as well as chemistry and math. Irecently substitute taught all grade levels (pre-K to 12 grade). I understand the curriculum and what is expected of the students. I also taught in an alternative classroom setting at Clemson Youth Learning Institute and understand there are many ways of learning.

A Little Bit About Me...

Teaching is my passion. I strongly believe that every moment is a teaching moment, whether or not it is intended to be. I feel that my job as a tutor and as a teacher is to bring out the knowledge within. I understand that every learner is different and for this reason I begin with an assessment of each student. I then try to use their learning habits as a start for future lessons. I believe in learning through experience as opposed to memorization and so every opportunity I try to create a hands-on environment.
