I believe in challenging a student to do more than they were aware they could do - I have consistently found that individuals give themselves less credit than they deserve. I believe in making a lesson relevant to a student - keep it abstract and it will remain difficult, but bring it home and they will own it. A Little Bit About Me...

I am a very driven person. I have both a Bachelor and Master degree. These degrees have given me the skills to be able to teach students the best that I can. I have taught 2nd-5th grade. I love teaching all students and have extensive experience preparing students for the New York State tests. I have prepared students in the English Language Arts, Math, and 5th grade Social Studies test. I am very proud that all of the children that I helped prepare for the tests exceeded state standards. I have spent over 9 years as a Director of several learning centers. I taught reading, math, study skills, and writing.

I love to teach children and have fun at the same time. I love to incoprate games, i.e. jeopordy, or watch various DVD's on the subject that I am tutoring. I also realaize that not every student leanrs the same, what may work for one may not work for another.
I am a senior at the State University at Albany, where I am majoring in History. I am aniticapting graduating in the summer of 2010. I earned my AS degree in Liberal Arts.
