My comments on tutoring Pre-Algebra : As a college undergraduate student majoring in Engineering and mathematics, I have full proficiency in this subject!

I am currently a Sophomore at Northeastern University's College of Engineering, where I plan to receive a B.S and M.S in civil and environmental engineering with a minor in mathematics. My comments on tutoring Pre-Algebra : Introduction to algebra can be daunting to children. All those mysterious symbols can be very confusing. I am a gentle and supportive teacher and I put students at ease. Once the anxiety subsides, most kids learn rapidly.

I have logged over 5,000 hours of tutoring in the last four years. I have worked for a game company, which taught me how to approach tests as a contest between student and test-maker, and my extensive background as a writer gives me practical experience when it comes to teaching English and related subjects. My competence in math has always been obvious, as my 796 score (maximum 800) on the math SAT will attest. But most important: I love to teach any child or adult who wants to learn.

Chinese speaking/listening/reading/writing

I think we'll watch Chinese TV together and go to some field trips to gain your confidence speaking Chinese to native speakers. And sometimes worksheets for learning Chinese characters/ writing but they'll not be boring. We will also go online learning some phrases people would use online.
No experience teaching Chinese as a FOREIGN language. But I do speak Chinese fluently and be able to communicate in English and Chinese. and I did teach Chinese to people who already SPEAK Chinese. I have learned Chinese for over 10 years and speak Chinese since the day I figured out how to speak. And finding a native speaker who isn't inflexible is the best choice you can make.

I like to stay relaxed and have fun, telling a few jokes along the way. It's hard to learn things if you're not interested, and even more so if you're struggling with it! I push students a bit once I'm sure they understand something, and I always try to get them to be at their very best.
