I just recently graduated from Ball State and am returning in the Fall to begin work on my masters in chemistry. My interest lies in analytical chemistry, which teaches you the various techniques and apparatuses that every chemist should know how to use, as well as real world skills to help a chemist know how to approach a certain problem or situation without the help of a lab manual. Have tutored peers and younger students starting in high school and continuing throughout my undergraduate. Fundamental understanding is what is most important. Just knowing which equation to use for a certain type of problem will not help a student succeed in future courses. Students should also know that repetition is the best way to master a skill.
