A Little Bit About Me...

I am a very patient and compassionate individual. I will always help a person capitalize on his or her academic strengths, while working patiently but dilligently to recognize his or her weaknesses.
I am a 21 year-old senior attending UW-Milwaukee. I will be graduated in December 2012 with a BA in Literary and Critical Studies with a minor in Philosophy. I have not had any formal experience with tutoring but have always been someone who my friends and fellow students seek out to proof read their papers and to give suggestions or comments. Last semester I made the Dean's List here at the university and I am maintaining a 3.8 accumulative GPA.

A Little Bit About Me...

Knowledge is not something to be horded. I think we each have a responsibility to share what we know. I love to help people understand. I prefer to teach by lecturing,but I realize that individuals learn subjects individual ways, and thus as a tutor my task is to be clear and patient. A Little Bit About Me...

I love working with students and have excellent patience and communication skills. I also like to think of creative ways to help students learn if they are not understanding. I have found that the method of facilitating rather than dictating to be a highly beneficial style of teaching. I have private tutored almost all throughout college, mostly because I had many international friends in desperate need for English help. I taught English in Korea; the first 5 months being beginner English (to preschool to fourth graders) and the last 7 months I taught actual subjects children in America learn but at advanced levels (from 3rd grade to late middle school). The way I teach is different for every grade level. I check out the book, get to know the student and find a path to which the child can learn easily and find the subject interesting, no matter who the student is. I don't give up easily.
