A Little Bit About Me...

I taught with the Bangor adult education program in the early 1980's as a graduate student in educational psychology. I taught adults a variety of subjects math, English and GED preparation at that time. I also taught English as a Second language with them. I also hold a masters in education at the University of Maine at Orono that I have not listed in the formal education section. I reserved that section for relevant finance and accounting information. But having said that, I have a broad psychology and education background (I was a clinical counselor for 12 years)that goes along with my knowledge of finance and accounting theory.

I have also learned to express my understanding to tough, cynical and easily distracted teenagers, as well as to more motivated and capable students. I have worked at GoodWill-Hinckley, where for more than five years I taught behavioral and social skills to teenagers. I have also worked for many years as both staff and as a supervisor in homes for the developmentally disabled, where I have been responsible for training new staff. In the CADD Certificate program at Kennebec Valley Community College (where I earned high honors) I worked as an algebra tutor to adults.
