I started out working as a Head Start teacher's assistant and the following year I was promoted to Head Start teacher and manager. I have also worked as a 1:1 instructional assistant with a high needs student. Currently I worked in a behavior school as an instructional assistant, and I have stepped in to plan curriculum and teach all the classes because the teacher has been on paid leave this year. I also have been commuting to college in Castleton State College from Springfield after work to complete my degree in education. I have been able to keep my GPA at a 3.8 which I believe demonstrates my ability to multitask effectively.

I graduated with honors from a formal university, where I tutored fellow classmates; however, I gained most of my tutoring and teaching experience overseas, in a universal classroom. I have taught youth and adults in Mexico, Spain, Chad, Benin, Morocco and other countries. In most of those cases I was teaching English, but I also taught key aspects of health, sustainable development, lifelong skills and leadership. I taught classes ranging in size between 5 and 100. I served as a tutor, primarily for English, History, and writing, for three years while attending Southern Vermont College. Following graduation, I worked for three years as a paraprofessional for Leland & Gray Union High School. While working in this capacity there were several one on one situations similar to the relationship that exists between tutors and their students. In addition to the aforementioned subjects I tutored while in college, I also assisted students in other areas such as basic math and general science.
