I believe every child is entitled to an education regardless of any circumstance. They should strive to achieve all they can become. I try to be a teacher with patience, a good listener, and to encourage all my students with a positive attitude. My students needs come first and I try to always have extra time for them if they require it.
I became a teacher because I enjoy working with children. I enjoy helping them in their learning process. When they do well in achieving their goal it's rewarding to me. My teaching philosophy drives my instruction. Cooperative learning, discovery-based learning, student-centered classrooms, and research-based methods are all components of my teaching style. With the support system I provide, students feel comfortable taking risks with new knowledge and aren't reprimanded for making mistakes. Hello, I graduated with a PhD. in analytical chemistry from the Department of Chemistry, University of Massachusetts in Amherst. My research work during my PhD career involved synthesis, purification, analysis and utilization of proteins and PEGylated proteins in bioanalytical experiments. These experimental studies resulted in several publications in scientific journals. In addition, I have considerable experience in training undergraduate chemistry students. Recently, I had the opportunity to tutor at Westfield State College as a visiting lecturer, where I thought a second year organic chemistry class together with a laboratory session associated with the class. It's true that every student learns at a different pace with a different style. I like to see myself as a cameleon teacher, catering my format to individual needs. My style tends to be laid back so that students are comfortable expressing their likes and dislikes with me, curbing their fear of not understanding something. I love to use metaphors, pictures, examples and stories to illustrate the subject in a new and perhaps clearer way. I don't teach and run - I make sure the student understands before moving on to the next problem. I have them work through something in front of me so I can make sure they know what they're doing.
