Over thirty years of college teaching experiences for a number of universities to include Florida Institute of Technology and Central Michigan University. The most recent contract was to teach MSA 600, Foundations of Research Methods in Adminstration for CMU at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, Summer 2015. I also served as a trainer and training supervisor for over 20 years at the U S Army Quartermaster Center and School, Fort LEE, VA. From January to June 2015 I served as the Campaign Chair for the Living Our Mission Fund Drive at St Joseph Catholic Church, Petersburg, VA. Don't risk your grade/money on mere paper qualifications

My teaching style relies heavily on feedback from the client. I try to have a phone call with a student to learn what they are having difficulty with but also what their professor might expect from them. Then I get a good sense of their personality to understand the best way to get ideas across to them. There are often roadblocks to learning such as personal hangups or self doubt that must be addressed. Other times it is just a matter of understanding what the person does or does not get.
You will see many ads by former or current professors trying to make a buck on the side. They are terrible tutors - they spent their whole careers having students beg them for a better grade. A Little Bit About Me...

I am a graduate from Randolph College formally known as Randolph Macon Woman's College. Currently I am working on obtaining an additional degree in Chemistry. I have taken classes in advanced mathematics, biology, chemistry and physics. As a person labeled LD I understand and have developed techniques to learn material. These experiences helped me tutor others in math and science.
I believe that anyone can learn any subject if you give them the proper tools. Setting goals and meeting them is only part of the battle, Knowing what when wrong and how to fix it is the other half. My teaching style is tailored to the individual. The first thing I do when I'm trying to teach someone something is determine their learning style. If they don't know it I help them figure it out. I do find that most people learn best by diving in and doing it themselves first, while I serve as a "safety net". Whenever I was teaching new helmsmen or junior officers how to steer survey lines, I would direct them how to do it the first few times, and then when they felt ready to try it themselves, I stood back and let them, not stepping in until the absolute last second. Letting them make and try to correct their own mistakes seemed to be the best teaching tool I had.
