I enjoy immensely working with beginning readers. It is so thrilling to me to see the light bulb go off in a child when they grasp a math concept or advance in their reading! I am very patient and really enjoy making it fun and attractive to learn.One of my big gifts is encouragement. I believe in a structured, organized setting for teaching. I'm passionate about science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education. With my degree in geology and experiences in technology and computer arenas, I'm capable of guiding inquiry on such subjects. In addition to traditional teaching, mentoring, and volunteering from grade school computer labs to adult geology field trips, I've also coached teams such as Odyssey of the Mind (at all levels 3rd through 11th grade).
