A Little Bit About Me...

I love teaching and I am very patient. I enjoy teaching and seeing the progress of my work in children. My teaching style includes patience and designed to fit your child. Math - hands on. Counting objects. Reading - Sounding things out.
I have some experience with Early Childhood Education. I have started but not completed a degree in Education. I have volunteered several times at a day care center throughout my education to complete required labs. During this time I would read to the children and ask them questions about what I read to challenge their minds. I enjoy teaching and plan to be a certified teacher. I love working with children and students of all ages. I was a volunteer at Shriners Childrens Hospital for many years in the recreational therapy department. I was a "class teacher" at a friend's daycare part time, and I held a summer job as a lifeguard and swim instructor for many years. I find that when teaching something new or difficult, it is best to find a way it relates to each individual. Once you discover this, you can make it fun and relavent for them.

I've always known that I wanted to work with children and adolescents. Prior to college, I was chosen to enroll in a course that helps those desiring to work in education or any filed working with young people. Also, I worked as a Substitute teacher and Paraprofessional Teacher for a special needs classroom over the course of a school year; which include the areas of reading, mathematics, science, and language arts. I received my Bachelor's of Science degree in Child and Adolescent Psychology with a minor in Sociology in May of 2009, and I am currently working on my Master's of Counseling.
