I have worked with all different ages of students, from 3rd grade to college, and enjoyed all of my experiences. I find that no matter who the student is I enjoy teaching and helping other, helping an individual to not only grasp concepts but develop a stronger self confidence in their learning. In May of 2009, I graduate from Kent State University with a BA in English and The Writing Minor certification. As a college student, I took many courses highlighting grammar structure and the writing styles of APA and MLA. As a student, I held part time jobs as a nanny for three children and a high school athletic coach for Gilmour Academy. In these positions I was able to learn the most efficient ways to work with elementary level children and teenagers preparing for college. I work with each student in the way that is best for their particular learning styles. I prefer a laid-back approach to learning, allowing students to understand at their own pace and make connection on their own. This does not mean, however, that I do not have high expectations for my students.
I hold two bachelor degrees, a BA in French Language and Literature and a BS in Microbiology. I also have a certificate in African Studies and a minor in Chemistry.
