Literature is one of my top subjects! I have a passion for literature and teaching students how to read deeply to find out what the author was truly trying to say. Expert areas are British, American, and World literature.

I'm very laid back, but I know how to get results. I have always been a very disciplined student, but I realized pretty early in my academic career that unless I make the subject interesting for me, I'll never grasp the material. I make it a point to get to know every student so that I can personalize their learning style. The only way they'll learn and understand something is if they WANT to do so. A Little Bit About Me...

I think the most useful tutor emphasizes critical thinking. I have noticed that many students focus on memorization instead of really understanding the processes behind science, math, and foreign languages. I try to focus on how and why things are, rather than just the fact that they are. I believe that this approach provides students with a deep understanding of the material and an ability to problem-solve on their own. They can then develop better comprehension, and tend to be more interested in learning.
I graduated with my undergraduate degree in marine biology in 2002 and then worked as a research biologist for two and a half years before returning to school to pursue my master’s degree.
