My experience began as a teacher in the public school system where I taught for three years in an elementary setting. Following this, I worked as a teacher and Tutorial Coordinator in a deaf school for four years. I instructed middle school students in all subjects but tutored all age and developmental levels. I enjoy working in both special education and elementary education. It think it is important to set a child up for success by doing what is needed to aid that student. Weather it be modified lessons or guided practice with the student so he/she can eventually work independently. It is important to teach skills and tips/techniques the student can apply to be able to complete the assignment on their own. I hold a provisional Teaching Certification from the State of Michigan; I have begun the process of transferring it to the State of Florida. A Masters degree in Education is in my near future.
