I have spent my life working towards degrees that would help me to give my life meaning. I have earned a B.S. and M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology, as well as, a bilingual extension in Spanish. During my junior year of undergraduate work, I was contacted by a professor and asked to become an English tutor intern for my fellow students and visiting exchange students from Aichi, Japan. I was told that this hands-on tutoring would also coincide with an upper level English class, a class in which permission of its instructor, the English department and recommendations from other professors were all required. I accepted the offer and began my brief journey as a tutor from January 2008-May 2008 and truly enjoyed the time I spent helping others learn the language and writing skills that go hand-in-hand with the English language.
