Reach One Teach One

Teaching is not only my passion but my calling. Having had the opportunity to teach both fifth and second grade specializing in reading I have learned very helpful techniques. English is one of my top subjects!

I double-majored in biology in chemistry in undergrad, so the field of science and medicine is my first love and my strength. I have also received a Masters of Public Health Degree in Epidemiology, and have since completed my 2nd year of medical school. I have always had a strong affinity for math and english as well. I have a published thesis paper that was constructed and presented as required for my masters curriculum. I have been tutoring since I was in high school, and have tutored elementary to college level courses.
I have a relaxed, stress-free teaching style, while staying on task and topic. I make sure the pupils really understand the material by breaking things down to the basics, and reviewing the foundations. I vary it the best I can to accommodate the student, though I believe that the most important factor is that the student be guided through the process and never just given the answer or denied explanation.
As a graduate of university level education from the English field, I have written a great deal and have been extensively exposed to the writing process. A great deal of my education was focused on Education/Teaching in the event I decided to apply my degree in such a manner. I have some experience with students in the formal classroom environment as well as the one-on-one setting.
