I worked with a variety of ages from k-12. My most recent experience has been with students in elementary school. I worked for a semester teaching children about sustainable practices and the benefits of buying produce from local farms. While I am most comfortable with high school students, I have great communication skills and can work well with all children.

Dyslexia is one of my top subjects! I have training and certification in multisensory learning techniques. I apply some of these techniques to even on-level students if they have a weaknesses in reading, writing, and/or spelling.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have worked with children for as long as I can remember. When I entered college I knew right away what major I wanted, Elementary Education. During college breaks I would work at the local daycare. There I worked with a variety of ages. The last year of college I worked with disadvantaged, at-risk students. I tutored them in reading and math during the school year. In the summer I was their summer school teacher. I graduated with my master’s degree in education from Radford University in 2007. I immediately found a job teaching kindergarten. I was responsible for developing and implementing lesson plans based on Virginia standards. I provided my students with a fun and loving classroom. Teaching truly is a passion of mine.
