Over 13 years of working with students that were not scholars initially. After learning skills to improve their educational/learning experience, they became more scholarly, and enjoyed learning. This is key. They just need to change their perspective, and learn how to make "learning" enjoyable, like it was in kindergarden.
My teaching style is interactive, many of my former students would characterize it as "coaching". I always empower the student to find their way and to have them become "pros" in the learning process. I do not do the work for them, but I show them how they can make their tasks and finishing them more efficient. I am a firm believer in the philosophy that edication is not preparation for life, it is life itself. Experience is key.

Most recently I was an educational liaison in an alternative classroom in the Pocono Mountain School District. I worked for a technology company providing online curriculum for the students. While in the classroom, I tutored the students in all subject areas where they had difficulty, but specifically concentrating on tutoring the math courses. As a current undergraduate chemistry and honors student at Arcadia University, I was recommended to become a tutor from several of my teachers my first year in college. I became a certified CRLA tutor and started tutoring my sophomore year of college; I've been tutoring ever since. I tutor chemistry, biology, math (beginner algebra, statistics, calculus I and II), and calculus based physics.
