I started out working as a Head Start teacher's assistant and the following year I was promoted to Head Start teacher and manager. I have also worked as a 1:1 instructional assistant with a high needs student. Currently I worked in a behavior school as an instructional assistant, and I have stepped in to plan curriculum and teach all the classes because the teacher has been on paid leave this year. How do I summarize teaching in my life? I guess the best way to explain my teaching experience is to tell you a story. As a young girl I wanted to be a teacher. Because of my love of learning I taught all my siblings how to read. I know it is pretty funny but it is a true story. I am a very well organized person who can multitask and prioritize extremely well, however to me this important but yet secondary aspect of teaching is next to assisting children develop their social, communication, developmental and learning skills. Creativity in this job is a must and I feel you need to be on the same level as your students to engage them in what you want to teach them. Not all students learn in the same fashion so I feel teaching the same facts but in different ways to target your audience is very key in education.
