My teaching style is to merge technology, current events, and thought provoking question into one. I related the given subject to the student as best as I can. This makes the subject personal and it makes the information easy to retain. I first introduce myself and get to know a little about the student I am tutoring. Then, I establish a baseline of what they have learned so that I can direct my attention to their strengths and weaknesses. Finally, I get into the material with the student and show them how and why the material is important and applicable in the world in which we live. I have served as a substitute teacher in Hayward, CA for 1 1/2 years. I worked as a tutor for Learning & Loving It in San Jose, CA for 3 years. I realize that, in order for a student to want to learn, the subject must be presented to them in an interesting way. I know I have the ability to make the subject relative to the child in a way that is both easy-to-understand, yet effective. I am extremely patient, enthuastic, and truly love the subject of English. I am a graduate of Alcorn State University. I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Science. During my four years at Alcorn State University, I took a number of biology, chemistry, math classes.
