A Little Bit About Me...

I am currently a student at Brigham Young University - Idaho where I am pursuing a degree in Biology with minors in Child Studies and Chemistry. This rigorous program has taught me the importance of fulfilling one's potential, the vitality of good study habits, as well as giving me an understanding of children and adolescents. The past two years I have participated in a youth summer program for high school-aged students. I was responsible for giving both formal and informal instruction in leadership skills, self-esteem, and religion. Since last year I have tutored college students in math, specifically in Algebra and Statistics.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have a love for children and for learning. I believe in being patient and encouraging children to learn. I have learned in my dealings with children that they respond better when they feel that I have a genuine interest in them. I have worked with children with Autism. They are a special challenge, but have helped me to develop more patience and understanding. As a mother I have an appreciation of gentle firmness and consistency and have a desire to help children succeed. I believe in helping children find methods of problem solving that work for them.
I recently earned my bachelor's degree in Chemistry. I was in advanced math classes and have studied up through Calculus, testing out of an Algebra II class. I have worked for ten years as a certified surgical technologist. Two years ago I took a position at Eastern Idaho Technical College as a part-time instructor for their surgical technology program. I will graduate this spring with a BA in general studies. I have taken a variety of college classes over the past several years, and this has enabled me to understand a variety of subjects. Many of the courses that I have taken involved writing numerous papers and essays, which I have always excelled at. Besides English, I have taken advanced chemistry classes, as well as biology and and anatomy and physiology courses.
