A Little Bit About Me...

I believe that each child is an empty page in a book. Teachers must provide information to help fill up that page. It is my job to see that each child reaches their true potential. I realize that each child learns in different ways. I bring science and math to life by letting students explore different approaches to solving an equation or science mystry. There may be only one correct answer but there are many ways to find it. I am not a person who thinks that textbooks have all the answers or show the only way to look at things. I want my students to take chances, make mistakes (that is the only way you really learn) and get messy. If you are looking for a tutor who thinks out side of the box then I am the tutor for you.

A Little Bit About Me...

I believe that an open dialogue is a teacher's most needed resource. Any child needs to feel as though he or she can express concerns or apprehensions without the fear of feeling embarrassed or stupid. I truly believe that there is no such thing as a stupid question. Teaching should, of course, relay necessary information, but it should also foster a student's drive to succeed, as well as the knowledge that any goal can be reached through perserverance. I enjoy helping students of all ages, and I look forward to what my students will inevitably teach me.

I have over ten years of experience working with children, and over five years of experience as a teacher and tutor. I have a BA in Psychology, and a JD in Law. I have also passed the CBEST and the CSET Social Studies tests. I have excellent writing and reading skills that were further developed during law school.
