A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching methods vary depending upon the subject matter and the pupil’s preferences. I enjoy getting to know students and customizing their learning experience to the methods that will best serve them. In the classroom setting, I employ many forms of teaching, including lecture, memorization, demonstration and the Socratic Method when appropriate. I have worked with students from all backgrounds and age levels, and enjoy each student for their own unique personality and potential. I believe that all children can be successful when surrounded by people who care and tools to get them there. I worked as a substitute teacher for a charter high school in St. Louis, MO directly out of undergrad. I taught most subjects including Biology, Chemistry, Algebra, History and Language Arts. I feel comfortable in my ability to teach most subjects and have no issue working in difficult classrooms as I have grown accustomed to such environments working in St. Louis.
Being no stranger to difficult classroom settings, I understand that ideal teaching conditions rarely exist. I enjoy to challenge of encouraging more distracted students to learn, and possess the compassion and patience to work with most students.
